Porsche is a name synonymous with high-performance sports cars, and their Cayman is no exception. We set out to design a mobile experience that captured the thrill, beauty and performance of driving one.
As an extension of the Speed Channel-produced "King of the Curve," the mission was to design and build a mobile application that could include everyone in the excitement. We wanted an experience that would delight dealers and Porsche enthusiasts alike by putting a real-world driving performance tool right in their hands.
Our app was used to function as the centerpiece of a global ad campaign for the launch of the 2014 Cayman, so the pressure was on. The Cayman is all about perfomance, and precision driving, so we wanted to come up with a way for Porsche drivers to put their cars to the test, and actually measure their results.
Porsche’s designs are the pinnacle of aesthetic splendor. The app’s design needed to get out of the way and center on the natural beauty of the Cayman itself. We went with a clean, clear, aggressive feel that felt a bit edgier than typical Porsche marketing design.

We paid ample tribute to the Cayman itself, and built an inclusive community for all to share, but now came the real challenge. We wanted to take full advantage of the robust technology in the iPhone to deliver an enhanced real-world driving experience deserving of the Porsche name.
In the end, a simple, free download enables the highly discriminating Porsche driving audience to experience the thrill and excitement of performance driving in a whole new way. It’s precision tracking, real-time feedback, and scoring that can be measured against the rest of the world.
